Properly Testing Your Swimming Pool

Properly Testing Your Swimming Pool

Testing your swimming pool water regularly is how to keep it looking and feeling sparkling clean and clear. While there are many different testing options on the market, at Blue Diamond Pool Services we personally choose to test with Taylor Technologies Test Kits. This complete service drop test kit will provide insight on all the ranges of chemical levels in the swimming pool.

Taylor Technologies was founded in 1930 and is a big name in water testing. Their swimming pool test kits have been on the market since the 1960s. They have some of the leading products in pool water testing available on the market.

There are different testing kits to fit a variety of different needs, but their K-2005 and K-2006 liquid tests some of the most popular test kits.

The K-2005 is able to test for chlorine, bromine, pH, acid, base, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and cyanuric acid. When using this kit, obtain water samples from your pool around 18” below the surface; which, is roughly up to your elbow. Also, keep away from testing by any returns. Simply follow the manufacturer guidelines for each test. Once done, you simply need to match the color to see what your chemical levels are.

Even the DIY homeowner will find that after some practice, the Taylor Test Kit is a simple-to-use testing method that is more detailed than using subjective test strips to keep their pool in the perfect swimming condition.
